We have been commissioned by Neybor, a co-living company, to adapt our Leaf lamp to propose an accessible product as a gift for their new co-livers. The challenge was making a lamp that could be affordable, sustainable, and quickly produced in a small batch.
The challenge was making a lamp that could be affordable, sustainable, and quickly produced in a small batch.
We decided to design an open-source lamp that anyone could make using a 3d printer and polypropylene sheet accessible in any art or hardware shop. Sharing our open manufacturing ideology is at the core of this project. Design Global, Produce Local
Based on the above notion, we interpret the Leaf lamp so it can be easily and rapidly produced in our workshop. We used plant-based plastic to print the solid structure, while we used flat and flexible polypropylene sheets to give volume to the product. The design was made thinking of transport and storage
