Journal Café - Brussels

A neighbourhood café where coffee, culture and conversation meet.

Just steps away from the city center, Journal Café has quickly become one of those places where people like to stay. Part café, part cultural hangout, the space attracts a mix of locals, creatives and curious passers-by who come for a good coffee, a bite to eat or simply a moment to slow down. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate. The kind of place where you open a laptop for an hour and end up staying the whole afternoon.

For this project, we produced a small series of WD01 chairs specially for the café. Around ten pieces were installed throughout the space, bringing a simple and warm seating element that fits naturally with the character of the interior. Their understated design works easily within the café setting, offering comfortable seating without stealing attention from the lively atmosphere of the place.

Collaborating with Journal Café felt very natural for us. Independent cafés like this one are built on strong identity and thoughtful details. By integrating furniture made from reclaimed materials, the project adds another layer to the story of the space and objects with their own history becoming part of the everyday life of the café.
