Glaçage - Merode, Brussels
A ceramic painting studio made for slowing down and creating together
Just a few steps from Merode, Glaçage has opened its newest ceramic painting studio, joining its spaces in Châtelain, Waterloo and Liège. The idea is simple: pick a piece, choose your colours and paint it your way, while the team takes care of the glazing and firing. Bright and welcoming, the studio is open to every level, from families to friends looking for a different kind of afternoon, with something sweet or savoury to share along the way.
For the new studio, we supplied our PLY01 chairs with brown legs and red seats for the workshop space, where guests settle in for their session. The warm brown keeps the room calm and grounded, while the red brings a playful touch of colour that echoes the creative energy of the place. Sturdy and comfortable, the chairs are made to accompany long sessions, brush in hand.
PLY01 - Chair
Each PLY01 chair is made from thick reclaimed birch plywood sourced from industrial surplus, with the layered edge of the original panel left visible as its signature. Working with Big Trouble in Chinatown felt like a natural match: a restaurant built on stories that travelled across cities, furnished with pieces that come with a past of their own. Sturdy enough for busy service and warm enough for long dinners, they bring a quiet layer of circularity to one of the liveliest tables in Saint-Gilles.
